Innovative, Non-Surgical Vein Therapy in Atlanta
Varicose Veins are More than a Cosmetic Problem.
They’re a Serious Health Risk.
Left untreated, varicose veins can cause diseases of the skin, inflammation, and wounds that don’t heal, vein rupture, and bleeding as well as blood clots. They can also lead to uncomfortable symptoms including painful swelling and tenderness, burning, muscle cramps, and the feeling of heavy, tired, and achy legs. Worst case scenario, they can lead to blood clots.
With effective treatment, by removing and closing the varicose vein, blood will naturally take an alternate path to healthy veins. Those veins then take over a healthy blood flow, returning blood from your legs to your heart.
Immediate Relief is Now Available
The good news. Medical advances have now made it possible to effectively treat Varicose and Spider veins non-surgically with very little pain and phenomenal results.
That’s why Atlanta Medical Clinic is offering our patients the most advanced and most effective non-surgical technologies. All procedures are minimally invasive outpatient procedures that allow you to get back to activities the same day. Relief from the discomfort and dangers of Varicose Veins are just a doctor’s appointment away.
Advanced Non-Surgical Procedures We Offer
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional vein stripping. It’s done by inserting a very small tube called a catheter into the vein and delivering RF energy to the vein wall. This causes the vein to shrink, collapse and seal shut. Once it’s sealed, healthy veins take over and redirect blood flow back towards the heart. The RFA procedure can be performed under local anesthesia in a physician’s office, and most patients return to normal activity within a day.
Who Should Not be Treated?
Patients should wait at least three months after pregnancy or major surgery before being treated for vein disease. Persons with deep vein thrombosis or incompetence, and patients who cannot ambulate are not good candidates for treatment.
The delivered medication helps to close the varicose vein allowing blood to naturally take an alternate path through healthy veins, restoring blood flow, reducing discomfort, and improving overall cosmetics.
What the Patient Should Expect
The pin-sized entry does not require anesthesia (pain numbing) medication along the length of the treated area. This shortens the time the procedure takes and also helps to eliminate bruising.
You can return to normal activities the same day.
Sclerotherapy is extremely effective for most patients. It is estimated that between 50 and 80% of injected veins may be eliminated by each session. Sclerotherapy is especially effective for spider veins.
